BOLD Laser Automation, Inc. of Bedford, NH USA, announces its LMM500 series of laser tools for early-stage medical (Catheters / Stents) and fluidic device manufacturers (3D Printing / Inkjet Printing). When prototyping requires quick turn and iterative test devices, the LMM500 is a useful laser micromachining tool for 2D and 3D laser processing.

The BOLD team works with clients to find an optimized process specific to the customers’ needs selecting from nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond laser options. With the included modular tooling pallet system, a user clips in and clips out the fixtures for different products or process steps in the prototyping.

The LMM550 laser cuts precisely to produce small tube-based products such as stents or switch to selective material removal techniques for drilling or milling microfluidic parts or even microelectronics substrates. Standard LMM-550G is a galvo driven micromachining platform, with a scan field size of 50 mm x 50 mm and an XY process zone of 10”x10” (250 mm x 250 mm) with a Z-axis focus of 50 mm. The XY stages have an accuracy of +/-5 micron over their respective travels.

Laser kerf widths down to <10 microns are possible with special optics offering down to a spot size of 3 micron, with a reduced field size of 7 mm x 7 mm. The system also provides for debris extraction for safety and a standard safety enclosure that meets FDA/CDRH standards.

At BOLD Laser Automation, Inc, we only aim to provide the highest quality turnkey systems and platforms to help our clients achieve and succeed in their industry. By ensuring cost-effective results, customers can rely on the BOLD team to deliver solutions for whatever your need may be.
