The MuShield Company, an AS9100 certified company – is happy to announce the culmination of a years long expansion project to add much needed working space to their manufacturing facility.
The 12,000 square-foot expansion will feature ~6,000 square-feet of new manufacturing space, 8 new offices for MuShield employees, and a state of the art magnetic testing room to bolster their specialized magnetic shielding operation/service.
“Due to significant growth over the last 10-years, we had begun to burst at the seams a bit, so this expansion was imperative,” said MuShield Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Luke Grilli. “With growth comes the need for more manpower and machines, thus this additional space allows us to continue making capital investments where we may have passed in the past because of the lack of space. With new machines on the floor we’ll be able to offer quicker turns on delivery and possibly new technologies that we can take advantage of – and pass those advantages on to our customer base. A win-win for all parties involved.”
20% of the increased footprint will serve as the new home of MuShield’s newly acquired Solar Vacuum Furnace which will be utilized to conduct heat treating of mumetal magnetic shields and stress relief annealing hydroformed components. The Solar Vacuum Furnace was deemed a necessary investment MuShield needed to make due to the growth the company has experienced. It’s presence was a big catalyst for the expansion project and will help the company expand on its heat treating and annealing related service offerings within the industry.
Coming off of the recent announcement of being named a Silver Tier Supplier Award recipient by BAE Systems, an award presented to MuShield for exceptional performance and contributions to supply chain success in 2019 for their magnetic shielding solution contributions to BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems sector, this expansion is just another step forward in MuShield’s quest of progressing the manufacturing industry.
